Tom Dixon Unveils FAT WORK: The Ultimate Fusion of Style and Functionality

Tom Dixon, the renowned designer behind some of the most iconic furniture pieces of our time, has once again pushed the boundaries of creativity with his latest creation: the FAT WORK chair. In a world where the lines between home and office are increasingly blurred, Dixon’s FAT WORK emerges as the ultimate solution for those seeking both style and functionality in their workspace.

“The new blurred landscape that we now inhabit of hybrid work and pleasure demands furnishings that match our increasingly flexible and unpredictable lifestyles,” says Dixon. “FAT WORK is a response to these recent readjustments where the home has been redefined as a place to work, to zoom, and to learn.”

Designed with a keen eye for timeless elegance and unparalleled comfort, FAT WORK is a chair that transcends traditional office aesthetics. “We wanted to create a chair stripped of engineered aesthetics, with increased plushness and domesticity,” explains Dixon. “A chair for conference rooms and breakout spaces, home offices, or modern dining, that swivels and rolls and lifts with great posture and poise. We think FAT WORK is the perfect candidate for this job description.”

The inception of FAT WORK stemmed from Dixon’s personal experience during the pandemic. Dissatisfied with the bland look and comfort of traditional office chairs borrowed from his HQ in London for his home office, Dixon embarked on a mission to craft a chair that would elevate the home office experience. The result? FAT WORK – a testament to his unwavering commitment to blending form with function.

FAT WORK made its debut at Milan Design Week in April, where it garnered praise for its innovative design and unparalleled comfort. Following its successful premier, the chair is set to embark on a global tour, with stops planned in New York City, London (Clerkenwell Design Week in collaboration with Kvadrat), and Copenhagen for 3 Days of Design.

Each showcase promises to further solidify FAT WORK’s reputation as the new must-have chair. With its official launch across all markets in September and availability in over 200 different fabrics and colour options, FAT WORK is poised to redefine the way we think about office furniture. As the world embraces remote work and flexible lifestyles, Tom Dixon’s FAT WORK stands out as an unwavering symbol of style and comfort amid evolving workspaces.
